Little Engine Ventures (LEV) acquired 100% of Skydive Indianapolis from Indiana Skydive Center on April 19, 2019. Skydive Indy was founded and owned by Bob Dougherty. Dougherty launched the business more than 30 years ago from Greensburg, IN. The business was relocated to Frankfort, IN after a tornado hit the Greensburg airport.
Skydive Indy is the largest drop zone in Indiana and draws extreme sport athletes from around the globe. The AFF licensed instructors also provide a fun, safe and jet powered experience to hundreds of first time jumpers per week. The Frankfort Municipal airport is a short drive off of I-65 north and hosts numerous events throughout the summer season.

“We were not looking to jump into the skydiving business but a friend introduced me to Bob a couple years ago. We eventually got a deal done thanks to the patience of a lot of great people.” – Daryl B Starr, Founder & CEO of Little Engine Ventures
Starr said the company has extremely high safety ratings and this is thanks to a well trained staff, led by Dana Parker and Ryan Kramer. Joe Dunn will join the team from LEV’s Executive-on-Deck program. Dunn has a background in sports management and event planning with the NCAA, Coca-Cola and more. All staff will be retained for a season set to launch on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019.
