On December 17, 2023, Little Engine Ventures (“LEV”) acquired Skydive the Rock from Eric Bickel. Bickel had to close the drop zone in 2021 following a personal battle with cancer. The local drop zone offers tandem skydives to first time jumpers from Rockford, IL, Chicago, IL, Madison, WI and Lake Geneva. Students that want to become certified can undertake additional certification courses offered at the airport.

That stunk for a lot of people and the buyers did not have to do that. It makes me proud to be part of bringing it back to the area.”

Eric Bickel will resume his role as General Manager. Many of the area’s most experienced tandem instructors are excited to resume their roles, also.
